is when we're all going to vote on Prop 2. At least, those of us who care. So this bulletin is just to remind you to care, because... it's IMPORTANT!

Just to remind you, Prop 2 says that anything resembling or identical to marriage will not be given any of the same rights as marriage. And, being an amendment to the Texas Constitution, would take quite a lot of effort to overturn should it get passed. So it's really important that we don't let it pass.

Why? Because this would not only hurt gay unions, but also common-law marriages and domestic partner benefits. For example, if you're gay OR straight and work for a fairly liberal place, like Rice for instance, and you live with someone but aren't married to them, they're still entitled to great things like health insurance and social security. This amendment would revoke all those rights.

So, whether you're gay or not, planning on living with someone for a long time or getting married much sooner, you must understand that it's not okay to support measures that will strip the rights of people we love and respect (or anyone, for that matter).

It'll only take a few minutes, and if you voted for the president last year you're already registered. And if you don't know where you're supposed to vote, you can find yourself on this website and they'll e-mail you the location:

So... no excuses! (unless you don't care or are really anti-gay)

Vote NO on prop 2, bitches!
